Wedding favors are enchanting little devices that add that a special extra touch to your wedding and reception. They serve as a perfect little token of appreciation that you can present to your guests. Here are some ideas for inexpensive and thoughtful favors that you can easily purchase, embellish or make.

Wedding mints are traditional, but instead of using the traditional customary netting to house them, choose an alternative receptacle such as a champagne flute with your wedding date on it, a decorative trinket box topped with a silk bloom, a heart-shaped ornament, lace doily, or small hand-painted saucer. Also consider replacing the mints with gourmet chocolates or candy hearts.

Tiny photo frames come in all shapes and sizes. Consider small frames that house the bride and groom’s name along with the date of the wedding. Frames can also be easily crafted with any material–satin or white linen covering a cardboard base.

Bookmarks can also be crafted–consider a pressed flower, a photo bookmark of the bride and groom, or a classic love poem–each encased with plastic purchased from any office store. Another creative favor is a magnet that is specially designed with the date of the wedding or a love themed quote.

Depending on the wedding’s theme, there are many ways to create unique and memorable flairs. For example, for a Beach Wedding try using a silk bag full of small seashells or for an outdoor country wedding use bouquets of dried flowers and herbs.

Your options are endless so be sure to also consider items including: tea candles, a CD of love songs, bud vases, key chains, lockets, ornaments, small decorative tins, small etched mirrors, small keepsake photo albums, decorative coasters, heart-shaped pins, embroidered handkerchiefs, or small book of love poems (easily printed from your computer).

Favors are nice way to acknowledge your guests and to say thank-you. Ensuring that you provide thoughtful favors will make your event all the more memorable.
