Removing candle wax from silver candle holders?

Does anyone know a fast and easy way to remove candle wax from silver candle holders without damaging them?

First, try the freezer method to crack off the majority of the hardened wax.
Anything that remains can be removed with hot water on a cloth. Don’t submerge or put the candle holders in a dishwasher! Many candleholders’ bases are filled with plaster of paris to weight them, and this will dissolve if soaked in water.
If the wax is white, a little residue is a good thing to help keep the silver from tarnishing.
